A Generalization

You can often ascertain whether the person you’re talking to is a plan-ahead-er or a procrastinator when you tell them you’ve had a packing list written out for nearly two months and they either

a) Nod in agreement and smile as if in approval, or perhaps with a serious face as you both consider the weight of the object of preparation

or

b) Look at you with a mystified expression and shake their heads as if it will shake their brains into a place where they will understand the way your meticulous mind works

…And other expressions of bewilderment, derision, and/or amusement.
